How stuttering is manifested across languages

An ISF-funded study investigating how stuttering is expressed across different languages in bilingual children.

Funder: ISFDr. Sveta Fichman and Dr. Dvora FreudClick to participate

This ISF-funded program studies how stuttering is manifested across different languages in bilingual children. By comparing speech samples from the same child across the languages they speak at home and at school, we aim to understand how language proficiency, phonology, and prosody interact with stuttering — and how clinical assessment and intervention should adapt for multilingual populations. Participation involves a short set of recorded conversation and play tasks in each of the child's languages. Families receive a 100 NIS voucher as a thank-you.
